Most recently on a project basis for programmatic advertising platforms at Prohaska Consulting and place based television/digital signage networks, direct response and general rate television networks and an advertising calculator/standard broadcast calendar APP creator.

Recent representation includes Supermarket TV, a digital/video ad network in the 9th largest supermarket chain in the US. Travel Plaza TV 3D venue based television; “no glasses required”, Challenge Magazine, Next 1 Interactive Television Network, Shop to Cook interactive video and recipe kiosks in national grocery chains, Mizlou Thoroughbred Racing Network. Prior long term sales representation and co-ownership of the Executive Airline Clubroom Network featuring CNN, NFL and the NBA on large plasma screen televisions in the VIP lounges of major airlines nationally, CBS Sports Spectacular “special” and national representation of The Hotel Networks in the OOH category.

Co Founder, DigiMeld, Internet video grid streaming services company providing a portal for linear television channels, live events and VOD as well as software as a service technology licensing for linear television streaming, live events and VOD technology with full VCR functionality, live chat, community forums and Internet HD.

Agency Planning & buying

Foote, Cone & Belding, (FCB) Los Angeles, CA. Media Supervisor; Planning and buying for major national and regional clients in all media including network, regional and local television, radio, magazines, newspapers and out of home media. Clients included Mazda Motors of America, Sunkist, Farmers Insurance, Neutrogena, Tahiti Tourism, 1st Interstate bank, Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) gas and convenience stores. An assignment to research and and provide recommendations for all clients relative to the newly emerging cable television networks led to move to ad sales for cable television networks.

MTV/CNN Advertising Sales

MTV, Music Television, Western Regional Advertising Sales Manager. At this time MTV and CNN, (Turner Broadcasting) entered into a joint advertising sales division. I was hired for my expertise in cable television planning and buying and experience in national television audience and ratings research. Success with national advertiser commitments led to a move to CNN at the end of the joint sales venture.

CNN Advertising Sales Management

After the  joint venture with MTV, I was hired as Vice President, Advertising Sales to open the CNN advertising sales office in Los Angeles to cover ad sales for the western 13 states. Over the next 9 years the staff grew from one to eight. During that period sales revenue grow from just over $100,000 to 10’s of millions of dollars. Success here let to a transfer to New Your City as Vice President Sales Manager. While in NYC my responsibilities grew to include; Management of The  CNN broadcast network, The CNN Airport Channel and coordinator between CNN Executive producers and CNN Ad Sales.

Sales management cable nets

After leaving CNN I began the Eastern advertising Sales management role for the Prevue Network, a cable television network designed to provide local system oriented program listings for all cable networks on that system. This network was purchased and became the TV Guide Channel. A start up cable network, Military Channel hired me to run the advertising sales division as Senior Vice President, Advertising sales. This network, due to innovative work by the affiliate sales group, was the fastest growth cable network in history to date.

Advertising/streaming technology

After Military Channel I became involved with media technology start up companies. first was AdOutlet, an early entry into the buying and selling of all media using the internet. The company was too far ahead of the industry and was sold to a larger company for later use. The second was a video distribution technology that could reduce the delivery of internet video at a tiny fraction of the current cost.  I was co founder and President. When the major media companies realized the future of streaming internet media they all got involved opening up the internet distribution lines thereby universally reducing the cost to stream video over the internet.

Independent ad sales/marketing

Malachite Media LLC was created in 2002 as my independent sales and marketing company. Originally just me but staffing up occasionally as client responsibility was warranted. For over 22 years to present Malachite Media has represented broadcast and cable networks ad sales, multiple out of home (place based) video networks and currently , on a project by project basis, programmatic advertising media companies. Media clients include; The Executive Airline Clubroom Network (featuring CNN and NBA), Travel Plaza TV (national truck stop convenience stores), The Hotel Network, Supermarket TV, Mizlou Thoroughbred Racing Network, My Family TV, Resort’s and Residence Network and currently Prohaska Consulting.
